The young woman, who had married for love in Mianwali, was forcibly taken to Lahore by her relatives. Desperate and unfamiliar with the city, she reached out to the police, pleading for immediate help. According to a Safe Cities spokesperson, this was the woman’s first time in Lahore, making her situation even more dire.

Using the Women Safety App, the Virtual Women Police Station was able to swiftly locate the victim. The Nishtar Colony Police were immediately dispatched to the scene, where they successfully rescued her from her captors. The authorities, ensuring her safety and with her consent, placed her in Darul Aman, a local shelter home.

The police are now urging other women in distress to take advantage of the Virtual Women Police Station’s services by calling 15 in any emergency. The swift response in this case highlights the importance of these services in protecting vulnerable individuals.
