Himani Shivpuri reveals Kajol's hair care method for Aditya Chopra during 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge'; annoys Karan Johar on 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' set

In a recent interview, veteran actress Himani Shivpuri shared delightful behind-the-scenes stories from two iconic Bollywood films, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ) and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, focusing on her experiences with actress Kajol.

Shivpuri fondly recalled the vibrant atmosphere on the sets of DDLJ at Filmistan, where she shared a spacious green room with fellow actress Farida Jalal. She described the jovial camaraderie among the cast, particularly noting Kajol’s playful nature. According to Shivpuri, Kajol, known for her tomboyish demeanor, once playfully applied curd to director Aditya Chopra’s hair, much to the amusement of veteran actress Achala Sachdev, who played Kajol’s grandmother in the film.

During the interview, Shivpuri continued to reminisce about Kajol’s carefree attitude on the sets of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. She shared anecdotes of Kajol casually eating sandwiches between takes, unconcerned about her appearance, which occasionally irked makeup artist Mickey Contractor. Shivpuri also mentioned how director Karan Johar appreciated Kajol’s relaxed approach, especially in the film’s initial scenes.

In another interview with Peeping Moon, Shivpuri further elaborated on the fun-filled moments during the filming of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, particularly during the college scenes. She highlighted Kajol’s portrayal of a tomboyish character, recalling instances where the actress’s impromptu actions, like enjoying sandwiches, sometimes caused minor delays on set, much to Johar’s occasional frustration.

Himani Shivpuri’s anecdotes provide a glimpse into the lively and light-hearted atmosphere behind some of Bollywood’s most beloved films, showcasing the enduring charm of Kajol’s personality both on and off screen.
