Saudi Airlines flight lands safely after catching fire at Peshawar Airport

An international airlines’ flight narrowly averted a major accident today when its landing gear caught fire upon landing at Peshawar’s Bacha Khan International Airport, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) confirmed.

According to the CAA statement, the flight, which originated from Riyadh, experienced smoke and a subsequent fire in the left landing gear during landing maneuver near the runway. Prompt action from Air Traffic Control and fire rescue services prevented a potential disaster.

Video footage from the scene depicted smoke emanating from under the aircraft, which carried over 200 passengers and crew members. All 276 passengers and 21 crew members were safely evacuated using inflatable slides, as captured in eyewitness videos.

The Aircraft Accident Investigation Board has initiated an investigation into the incident to determine the cause and ensure safety measures for future flights.
