Panjgur Deputy Commissioner Zakir Baloch was shot and killed by unidentified gunmen on Monday while traveling near Mastung District. Baloch, traveling with District Chairman Malik Jan and his friend Ahmed Jan, was ambushed on the national highway near Khada-Kucha. The attackers fired at their vehicle and fled the scene.

Baloch and his companions suffered bullet wounds. Rescue teams arrived quickly and transported them to a nearby hospital, but Baloch died shortly after. The surviving injured were taken to Quetta’s Civil Hospital for advanced treatment.

In response to the attack, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the violence, expressing deep sorrow for Baloch’s death and extending prayers for the slain DC’s family. Sharif vowed that those responsible for the attack would face severe consequences and urged for an intensified investigation.
