TikTok, the popular video-sharing platform, has released its Community Guidelines Enforcement Report for the first quarter of 2024, showcasing its efforts to maintain a safe and inclusive environment for users worldwide.

According to the report, TikTok took action against 20,207,878 videos in Pakistan alone for breaching its Community Guidelines during this period. Globally, a staggering 166,997,307 videos were removed, which amounts to approximately 0.9% of the total videos uploaded on the platform.

The platform employs advanced technology combined with human oversight to identify and review content, ensuring compliance with its guidelines. Of the videos removed globally, 129,335,793 were detected and removed using automated detection technologies, while 6,042,287 videos were reinstated upon further review.

In addition to video content, TikTok also addressed comments, removing and filtering 976,479,946 comments using safety tools designed to protect users from harmful content and interactions. The platform’s commitment to safeguarding young users was evident with the deletion of 21,639,414 accounts suspected to belong to individuals under the age of 13.

“TikTok remains steadfast in its commitment to transparency, safety, and inclusivity,” stated the company in a press release accompanying the report. The periodic release of the Community Guidelines Enforcement Report aims to provide insights into the scale and nature of content and account actions taken by TikTok.
