The event was honored by the presence of Ramesh Singh Aurora, the Punjab Minister for Human Rights and Minorities, who served as the chief guest.

During his address, Minister Aurora praised Pakistan’s youth for their positive contributions and emphasized the government’s commitment to promoting religious harmony. He acknowledged the YMCA’s efforts to encourage dialogue between different faiths and praised the organization’s role in bringing young people from varied backgrounds together.

Emanuel Sarfraz, the General Secretary of YMCA Lahore, highlighted the organization’s historical significance in Pakistan’s freedom struggle. He recalled that the decision to vote in favor of Pakistan in 1947 was made at the YMCA Hall, underscoring the institution’s long-standing connection to the nation’s history.

The event featured a range of activities including a declamation contest, performances of national songs, and folk dance and music presentations by children. Program Secretary Iram Nelson announced YMCA’s upcoming initiatives, including the establishment of a women’s gym and hostel, aimed at fostering inclusivity and empowerment.

Conducted entirely in Punjabi, the celebration added a layer of cultural richness to the proceedings. The gathering exemplified the strength of community unity and the ongoing importance of promoting interfaith understanding in Pakistan.
