In a recent interview, Ranbir Kapoor, his son, revealed the profound emotional impact of his father’s death and the challenges he faced in coping with the loss. Ranbir shared that despite the overwhelming grief, he did not cry when his father passed away. He recounted a particularly distressing moment when he had a panic attack after being informed that his father was in his final hours.

During his conversation with entrepreneur Nikhil Kamath, Ranbir reflected on his emotional state, saying, “I didn’t even cry when my father passed away. There was too much happening, and I didn’t know how to express myself.” He admitted that the experience of his father’s death was compounded by his own struggle to process the situation, revealing a sense of emotional numbness and confusion.

Ranbir also spoke about the emotional distance between himself and his father, despite their mutual love. He recounted a poignant moment during Rishi Kapoor’s treatment in New York, where his father broke down in tears. Ranbir expressed regret for not bridging the emotional gap and offering his father the comfort he needed. “I felt guilty for not closing the distance between us and showing him more affection,” he said.

The actor also addressed the pressure of maintaining a strong front in the face of family responsibilities. “I was brought up with the expectation of being responsible, and I didn’t feel I could show weakness,” Ranbir explained. He described how the weight of his role in the family, coupled with his father’s death, made it difficult for him to openly grieve.
