Weekly deals: Google Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL prices drop

2025-01-04 13:31:00

The Google Pixel 9 Pro is £100 off its regular price and Amazon is including a free Fitbit Versa 4. The smartwatch promises 6+ days of battery life, fast charging (12 minutes is enough charge for a day), plus it can offer detailed readings on your sleep and exercise. Note that you need the Premium subscription to get the best out of it.

The Google Pixel 9 Pro XL is also £100 off, but doesn’t get the free watch. You can read our Pixel 9 Pro vs. 9 Pro XL article for a detailed comparison between the two models.

The vanilla model isn’t on sale right now, but the foldable is – the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is £300 off.

If you want a Wear OS watch instead of the more limited software on the Versa, the Google Pixel Watch 3 is discounted and gets an additional £80 off at checkout. Note that we’ve linked the LTE model, but you can also find the 45mm watch with Bluetooth for £100 less.

The Samsung Galaxy A55 comes with a free Samsung Galaxy Fit3 – it’s a smart band rather than a watch, but it offers long battery life (up to 13 days) and the basic suite of health and exercise trackers.

For a bit more, you can get the Motorola Edge 50 Pro. It’s a more premium device with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 (vs. Exynos 1480), a higher resolution 144Hz display (1220p+ vs. 1080p+ 120Hz), a 10MP tele camera (67mm vs. none) and a 4,500mAh battery with fast charging (125W wired and 50W wireless). It has better water resistance too (IP68 vs. IP67).

The Galaxy A16 5G is Samsung’s cheapest 5G offering from the new generation. It has a 6.7” 1080p+ OLED display (90Hz) and is powered by the Exynos 1330. The rear is home to a 50MP main camera and a 5MP ultra wide, inside is a 5,000mAh battery like on the A55 (with 25W wired-only charging).

The Motorola G85 costs a bit more. It has a faster 6.67” OLED display – 1080p+ at 120Hz with 10-bit colors to boot. Other advantages include a 50MP camera with OIS (A16’s 50MP camera doesn’t have optical stabilization) and higher resolution ultra wide (8MP) and selfie (32MP). The battery is similar to the Samsung (5,000mAh, 30W), but the water resistance is more basic (without an official IP rating).

One last thing – the Samsung Galaxy Watch7 (Bluetooth only) is available in 40mm and 44mm variants. Both have advanced features like ECG, though that only works with a Samsung phone. The watch is powered by the first 3nm chipset (Exynos W1000).
