On Wednesday night, heavy rains swept across Karachi, leading to flooding in numerous areas such as Saddar, I.I. Chundrigar Road, and Defence. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted heavy monsoon showers across the country from August 1 to 6, with occasional gaps.

The forecast warns that various regions, including Sindh, Kashmir, Islamabad, and parts of Punjab, will experience rain, thunderstorms, and possible heavy downpours. Areas like Mithi, Sanghar, and Mirpur Khas in Sindh, along with cities in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, are expected to face scattered heavy rainfall. The PMD has highlighted the potential for flash flooding in local streams and urban flooding in low-lying areas.

The department advises residents to stay alert and take precautions to avoid damage from the expected severe weather. Farmers and travelers are urged to plan activities around the weather conditions to prevent disruptions. Authorities are also advised to prepare for possible impacts, including landslides in hilly regions and damage to infrastructure due to heavy rains and windstorms
