On Wednesday, the Election Commission of Pakistan released an updated list of 166 political parties, along with new leadership updates. The document reveals significant changes, including the acknowledgment of Nawaz Sharif as the new president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). The Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarian (PPPP) also saw a leadership update with Asif Ali Zardari recognized as president and Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari as chairman. Additionally, Jamaat-e-Islami’s intra-party elections have been ratified, appointing Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman Khan as the party’s new head.

The update also highlights that the name of the chairman for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) remains unaltered, with Mahmood Khan taking the role for PTI-Parliamentarian. Asfandyar Wali Khan continues as the president of the Awami National Party (ANP). The ECP document further includes the Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) among the officially registered political parties, marking its inclusion in the electoral landscape.
