- Islamabad district administration has approved PTI’s rally set for July 6, 2024.
- The Islamabad High Court issued a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) following a petition by PTI.
- The rally will be held near Tarnol Chowk, ending legal obstacles for the party.
The Islamabad district administration has granted permission for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to hold a rally in the capital on July 6, 2024. This decision follows the Islamabad High Court’s handling of a petition filed by PTI’s Amir Masood Mughal, which led to the issuance of a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the deputy commissioner.
During a hearing led by Justice Babar Sattar, the court was informed by the state counsel about the NOC that had been issued. The rally is scheduled to take place near Tarnol Chowk. Justice Sattar underscored the importance of the district administration’s approval, remarking, “The district administration has given you permission for the rally. You can’t argue about everything.”
PTI’s advocate, Shoaib Shaheen, argued that the NOC was issued too late for proper preparation. Justice Sattar responded by suggesting that the party should be able to mobilize supporters quickly, saying, “You are a big party; you will gather people in a few hours. Now you want the DC to gather people for you too?”
With the court’s decision to dispose of the application, PTI has overcome the legal challenges and can now proceed with organizing their rally. The party is now focused on rallying their supporters for the event on July 6.
