The notice, sent to Chahat’s residence in the UK, comes from Mian Muhammad Umair on behalf of Qaiser Munir Khan. It alleges that Chahat falsely claimed a relationship with the late Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and used this fabricated connection to harm the musician’s legacy through his songs.

Additionally, Chahat is accused of violating copyright laws and offending the people of Faisalabad, with the notice stating, “Chahat’s singing has angered the people of Faisalabad,” highlighting local discontent over his alleged misrepresentation.

The legal document demands that Chahat issue a public apology on social media within 15 days. Failure to comply could result in a defamation lawsuit with a potential Rs180 million in damages.
