In a dramatic day at the Paris 2024 Olympics, Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz secured their place in the men’s doubles quarter-finals, overcoming a tough Dutch team. Despite being knocked out of the singles by Novak Djokovic just a day earlier, Nadal and Alcaraz showcased their resilience on Court Suzanne Lenglen, winning 6-4, 6-7 (2/7), 10-2.

Nadal, a 14-time French Open champion, has faced injury challenges recently and is currently ranked 161st in the world. He expressed enjoyment in partnering with Alcaraz and is determined to add another Olympic medal to his collection.

In a touching display of perseverance, Britain’s Andy Murray, alongside Dan Evans, pulled off a dramatic win in their doubles match. They saved match points twice to advance to the quarter-finals, with Murray visibly emotional after the victory.

Meanwhile, American star Coco Gauff experienced a frustrating exit from the singles competition. Top seed Iga Swiatek continued her impressive run, winning her 24th consecutive match on clay against China’s Wang Xiyu. Swiatek will now face Danielle Collins in the next round. Other notable winners included Angelique Kerber, Barbora Krejcikova, and Zheng Qinwen.
