KARACHI: The Pakistani youth teams, U15 Better Future and U17 Muslim Hands FC, have continued their remarkable run in the ongoing Norway Cup 2024 by securing spots in the semi-finals of their respective categories.
In an exhilarating match, the U17 Pakistan Street Child Football Team clinched victory against Germany’s JSG Leintal with a last-minute winner. Mohammad Kashif scored twice, and Mohammad Junaid added another goal, sparking celebrations among the Pakistani community in Norway. The U17 team is set to face Norway’s Forde IL in the first semi-final later today.
Meanwhile, the U15 team, Better Future Pakistan, delivered a commanding performance by defeating Norway’s Forde IL 1 with a 3-0 score in the quarter-final. Subhan Karim scored twice, and Shahbaz Ali also found the back of the net, ensuring their place in the semi-finals. They will now go up against Norway’s Varegg Fotball 1 in the U15 semi-final, also scheduled for later today.
Last year, Muslim Hands FC narrowly missed the championship in Norway Cup 2023, losing the final on penalties 10-9 against Sola FK, despite being undefeated throughout the tournament and scoring a total of 28 goals while conceding only three. Their impressive performance in 2023 set high expectations, and they are once again proving their capabilities in this year’s tournament.
